I want to invest for my child’s future. Suggestions are invited..?

My daughter turned an year old a few days back. I am looking forward for some investment plan to secure her future. I googled and read various article on this, people are recommending a NO to any child plan. Instead experts have opinion on for a term insurance + equity diversified MF + PPF + investment in Gold/Silver + Real Estate.

Instead of all such expert’s opinion on financial investment I would like to suggest financial parameters are just means to purchase many things in life, but not all things. Really investment for future should include best education, good health and many other social things which would improve her future. Good combination of investment in financial matters shall include real estate (40%); gold/ silver (40%) and Bank deposits (20%). Investment in stocks and other private banks offer shall be avoided.
The best advice I can give is If you don’t understand it then don’t do it.
You could simply pick a currency that you feel is safe and deposit money regularly into a bank account denominated in that currency.
I would suggest not the USD and not the EURO
