Good investment vehicle for inflation?

Loking for good investments for a guard against high inflation and or recession. I’m not much into stocks and bonds. Looking for more tangible items, ie. firearms, gold, silver, birck and mortar investments.
What items have traditionally done well during reccession and inflationary periods?
At this point, America’s economy isn’t doing that great. So, you should probably sit tight with your money right now and not put it into things.
GOLD and Silver. The run up in prices these last few months is a good indicator.
